Psychoanalysis
For this project, students were asked to choose someone to perform a psychoanalysis on. They would ask a series of questions to determine whether a mature person's personality has been created based on past experience. The students were also asked to apply knowledge about a mental disposition called FPP to this project. With this project, the student can see what the subject's personality traits are, whether they are "thin" or "thick" brained, whether they are "right" or "left" brained, and determine if the subject's past experiences have altered the way the person lives their life as an adult. The students may have chosen either a living person, who they would interview, or a non-living person of importance, who they would research.
Although most of the students chose to research someone, a few of these students chose to interview an adult. For example, a mentor or guardian, or another adult who would be willing to share details on their lifestyle and other various factors. Some of these factors may include stresses applied by the subject's lifestyle, relationships, medical factors, work, alcohol and drug intake, and other personal sources of stress. It was explained that every person would have different answers and that the students should not compare their results to those of the other students, therefore, each student would be working independently on this project.
Three weeks were provided to work on this project, as the class went on. The students continued learning while they worked on this project, in hopes that they would find more to add to their evaluation questions. The students were also provided with a list of sample questions that they could use to get an evaluation started. Some of these questions include:
